Mechanical Project Engineer (Resi)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Mechanical Project Engineer to join a leading MEP contractor delivering high-end residential new-build projects across London. This role suits a technically strong engineer with experience in premium residential environments, complex coordination, and high-quality finishes.

You will play a key role in supporting the delivery of mechanical services from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, working closely with Project Managers, Lead Engineers, and specialist subcontractors.

Responsible For

• Support the delivery of mechanical services on high-end residential projects

• Assist with design development, coordination, and technical reviews

• Manage RFIs, technical submissions, and design changes

• Coordinate mechanical installations including HVAC, comfort cooling, heating systems, plant rooms, and associated pipework

• Liaise closely with consultants, architects, interior designers, and supply chain partners

• Monitor site progress, installation quality, and compliance with specifications

• Support procurement of mechanical plant and specialist residential systems

• Assist with commissioning, testing, and handover of mechanical systems

• Ensure O&M manuals, as-built drawings, and handover documentation are completed

• Maintain high standards of health & safety and quality across the project

Specific Skills

HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical or Building Services Engineering

Proven experience working on high-end residential new-build projects

Background with an MEP or mechanical contractor

Strong technical knowledge of HVAC, heating, cooling, and domestic services

Experience working in premium finish environments with tight coordination

Ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings and specifications

Strong communication skills and attention to detail
