Technical Services Manager
Overview
A leading Main Contractor specialising in the fit-out and refurbishment of office buildings and commercial premises across Central London and the Home Counties.
Due to a diverse and growing portfolio of projects, we are seeking an experienced Technical Services Manager, delivering commercial fit-out projects ranging in value from £50k to £1m+.
This role requires a proactive, personable professional with strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage all aspects of building services with accuracy, integrity, and confidence.
Responsible For
- Take full responsibility for the design, coordination, installation, commissioning, and handover of MEP services on commercial office fit-out projects.
- Manage and coordinate all building services disciplines, including mechanical, electrical, lifts, sprinklers, voice & data, AV, security systems, and associated services.
- Ensure all works comply with building regulations, industry standards, and health & safety requirements.
- Work closely with project teams, subcontractors, consultants, and clients to ensure successful project delivery.
- Identify, manage, and resolve technical challenges while maintaining programme and cost objectives.
- Carry out site inspections, monitor progress, produce reports, and ensure quality standards are met.
- Manage procurement, subcontractor coordination, and value engineering to optimise cost and performance.
- Lead the commissioning and handover process, ensuring systems are fully operational and client expectations are met.
Specific Skills
5–7 years’ post-graduate experience within building services or a related discipline.
Preferably experienced working for a Main Contractor, ideally within design and build environments.
Proven experience delivering commercial office fit-out projects.
Strong, all-round knowledge of building services systems.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels.
