Electrical Project Engineer (Resi)

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Engineer to join a leading MEP contractor delivering high-end residential new-build projects across London. This role is ideal for an engineer with strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and experience working in premium residential environments where quality and coordination are critical.

You will support the delivery of electrical services from pre-construction through to commissioning and handover, working closely with Project Managers, Lead Engineers, consultants, and specialist subcontractors.

Responsible For

• Support the delivery of electrical services on high-end residential projects

• Assist with design development, coordination, and technical reviews

• Manage RFIs, technical submissions, and design changes

• Coordinate electrical installations including containment, power, lighting, and life safety systems

• Liaise with consultants, architects, interior designers, and specialist supply chain partners

• Monitor site progress, quality, and compliance with specifications

• Support procurement of electrical plant and specialist residential systems

• Assist with testing, commissioning, and handover of electrical systems

• Ensure as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation are completed

• Maintain high standards of health & safety and quality control on site

Specific Skills

HNC/HND or Degree in Electrical or Building Services Engineering

Proven experience working on high-end residential new-build projects

Background with an MEP or electrical contractor

Strong technical knowledge of lighting, power, containment, and life safety systems

Experience working in premium finish environments with complex coordination

Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and specifications

Strong communication skills and attention to detail
